The Bell Tents are located in the Western Loop of the campground, campsite #s 146, 147, 148, 150, 151, 154, 157

What’s Included in Your Bell Tent Stay

  • Spacious, fully furnished canvas bell tent (sleeps up to 4)

  • Memory foam mattresses (queen or twin configuration)

  • Fresh linens, blankets, and pillows

  • Soft indoor lighting and lanterns

  • Area rug and side table

  • Outdoor seating

  • Private picnic table

  • Access to shared fire pits

Note: 

  • Firewood is not included. Firewood may be purchased at the campground - check with the front kiosk for information to see if firewood is available at check-in or at a Camp Host station. 

  • Additional tents may not be added to your site. You can book a neighboring tent with friends or family if you have a larger group. 

Add-Ons

If you requested a Beach Wagon Kit or Kitchen Kit, they will be placed outside next to your Bell Tent on your rental day.

🏞 Campground Amenities (Provided by California State Parks)

  • 6 Flush restrooms and 6 coin-operated hot showers are located near the Bell Tents (about 150 feet away)

  • Potable water stations

  • Designated fire pits and barbecue grills

  • Trash and recycling bins

  • Ranger station and campground hosts

Quiet hours: 10 PM – 6 AM

Cancellation Policy 

  • If a reservation is cancelled more than 14 days prior to arrival, the rental fee will be refunded minus a $25 cancellation fee. 

  • If a reservation is cancelled 7 – 14 days prior to arrival, guest forfeits 1 night reservation rental rate.

  • If a reservation is cancelled with 7 days prior to arrival, guest forfeits their total reservation rental amount.

🚗 Parking Information

  • One vehicle is included per reservation.

  • Display your California State Parks parking pass on your dashboard.

  • Additional vehicles must pay a daily fee and park in designated areas.

  • Do not block fire lanes or park on unpaved surfaces.

From Interstate 5 (Southbound):

  • Exit Cristianitos Rd

  • Turn right onto Cristianitos

  • Follow signs to San Mateo Campground (entrance is on your left)
     

From Interstate 5 (Northbound):

  • Exit Cristianitos Rd

  • Turn left onto Cristianitos

  • Continue straight and follow signs to campground
     

Look for signs for San Onofre State Beach – San Mateo Campground.
